About this Watch
There is a particular quality of light in Venice that has no precise equivalent anywhere else, refracted off water, filtered through mist, broken apart by the city’s stone and glass into something almost architectural. It is fitting, then, that Venezianico has channeled exactly that tradition into the Arsenale Moissanite, the first jewelry watch series from the Morelli brothers’ Venetian maison. As CEO Alberto Morelli notes, for centuries La Serenissima served as one of the world’s great crossroads for gemstones and decorative arts, and that heritage is not incidental to this project. Working alongside Vicenza-based master goldsmith Davide Cestonaro, a respected figure in Italian artisanal high jewelry, Venezianico has built a timepiece where setting, surface and stone operate as a unified optical system.
The instrument at the center of that system is the baguette cut moissanite, a lab-grown stone selected specifically for its capacity to refract rather than simply reflect light. Cestonaro set each stone by hand along the bezel, a process demanding absolute precision so that light travels continuously and harmoniously across the entire surface. The result is a controlled brilliance that reinforces rather than overwhelms the Arsenale’s characteristic integrated architecture. Four natural mother-of-pearl dial variants: white, black, pink and light blue, amplify the effect, shifting character with every change of angle.
At 37 millimeters in diameter and only 9 millimeters thick, the Arsenale Moissanite wears as a genuinely wearable jewel. The automatic Miyota 9039 caliber provides reliable, slim movement execution, while sapphire crystal, screw-down crown and 50-meter water resistance ground the piece in practical watchmaking. What Venezianico has accomplished here is relatively rare: a jewelry watch that earns that designation not through surface embellishment but through a coherent design logic where light itself becomes structural.
